IAKL STANDS WITH THE BLACK COMMUNITY

June 18, 2020 1:17 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

The International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL) is deeply saddened by recent events, and the tragic death of George Floyd. We share the grief and anger within the Black community and stand with the Black community in demanding to be heard and an end to police brutality. IAKL stands with those who proudly exercise their rights under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

IAKL believes that actual reform and change must happen not only with the Minneapolis Police Department, but with many police forces across the world. To accelerate these changes, we must start the difficult conversation of how we can address racial and economic inequalities in our communities, and how we can peacefully confront the bias and racism that exists across the world. IAKL hopes that the leaders in governments will be guided with wisdom and a gentle hand towards those who are peacefully demanding change.

IAKL looks forward to engaging with our leaders and our communities across the world to bring about the changes that are so needed.
